Early 2008 mac pro. Originally came with an 8800gt which started giving graphical glitches – vertical blue lines, graphics freezing etc then eventually refused to boot. Tested gfx card in another system and got the same symptoms so assumed a gfx card failure. Bought a new gtx285 from Apple which worked fine for 3-4 days until failing in nearly a very similar way.

Basically the screenn keeps freezing, once frozen most of the time the mouse will still move, sometimes not. The other day my wife was on skype, screen froze but she was able to continue her conversation? I have a iMac and Macbook Pro. Its the Macbook that is doing this.
